I built pokeductor, a terminal Pokédex and battle utility written in Rust with Ratatui.
The goal was to create a fast, offline-first TUI for Pokémon stats, evolution paths, and matchup calculations without leaving the terminal.
Key Features
- Fast Lookups: Search Pokémon stats, types, abilities, and move sets backed by a local SQLite database.
- Evolution Trees: Visual breakdown of branching evolutions and requirements directly in the terminal.
- Damage & Matchup Calculator: Calculate type effectiveness, STAB, and defensive coverage.
- Non-blocking UI: Built with
tokioso queries and calculations do not freeze the render loop.
